Will two 600w viparspectra cover a 4x4?

The best LED grow light for your 4x4 grow tent should be powerful enough to meet the needs of your marijuana plants. This is dependent on several factors like whether your grow light’s coverage area is enough to cover a 4 foot width, and whether its light intensity is high enough.
Why you can’t use any cheap grow light for a 4x4 space:
I always say when you’re picking a grow light, you really do get what you pay for in terms of spectrum and light intensity -- the two most critical factors.
That’s why I’m not recommending low quality grow lights in this article. When you look at the light intensity and coverage space from cheap $60 grow lights, its not enough for anywhere near 4x4 feet.

Should I be using LED grow lights?
LED grow lights have only hit the market around a decade ago, and with it came great benefits: higher yields at a lower price for indoor growers. Now they’re the light of choice for many indoor growers. See our review on LED grow lights for more details.
What makes Viparspectra such a popular option?
Full spectrum: For one, they use LED lights in the full spectrum (440nm – 730nm, 3000K, 7500K) so you can grow your plants until budding without switching lights.
Multiple series and models: Viparspectra manufactures two series: dimmable and reflector lights. Underneath these two series are a number of grow lights, all with their own useful features that we’ll talk about later.
Warranty: They have a three year warranty and 30 day return no hassle guarantee.

The inclusion of the reflector design really helps the strengthen the PPFD reading by ensuring all the light is reflected in the direction of your canopy. Viparspectra claims it increases PPFD up to 50% over non-reflector grow lights. It also helps the Viparspectra 600w LED grow light to spread light more evenly across the canopy.

If you’re a beginner gardener or growing your first harvest using LED grow lights, then this Viparspectra LED grow light gives you the freedom to expand your grow space once you get familiar with growing.

You won’t need a separate socket for another grow panel as this comes with daisy chaining feature. Daisy chaining allows you to plug the power cord from another grow light into the back side of this light instead of placing all your cords on the same outlet with extension cords and surge protectors.

This is a carefully designed full spectrum LED grow light. The 12 band spectrum was customized by Viparspectra over 10 years for what they believe is optimal output. The spectrum includes infrared (IR) which helps your plants flower in a timely manner. The spectrum leans a little more toward the blue side, but in total it’s plenty to successfully carry your plants from seed to harvest.

The shade of light generated by Viparspectra’s 600W reflector is purple and a hint of pink can be seen with bloom mode on.

This Viparspectra 600 watt reflector series includes separate switches for Vegetation only and Bloom only modes. While some manufacturers argue it’s not a completely necessary feature, many growers appreciate the convenience of having dual mode switches included in the design.
Light Intensity (PPFD):

PPFD recorded by this grow panel from the height of 18″ is an impressive 820 uMol. :

Coverage Area:
With a strong PPFD reading and reflector design you’ll be able to get decent coverage out of this Viparspectra grow light.

This model will cover 3’x3′ of canopy during vegetation phase, and 2’x2′ of canopy during flowering phase. We like to say this is more of an art than a science because some people are comfortable hanging a bit higher and others like to keep their light closer.

Will two 600w viparspectra cover a 4x4?

I would recommend purchasing three of these in order to get sufficient coverage for a 4x4 grow tent. Based on the PPFD readings above, you’re really only getting sufficient light intensity out to 2 square feet. Therefore you’d need three for a 4x4 tent.

With daisy chaining you’ll be able to connect another grow light, whether it’s another Viparspectra or a cheap booster light to fill out a few extra inches.
